Position Description:Perform duties to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment, building facilities and grounds. This is including, but not limited to HVAC, boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration systems, blenders, processing and packaging equipment.Primary Responsibilities:Ensures operation of plant machinery utilizing both electrical and mechanical skills to troubleshoot equipmentCompletes preventive/predicative maintenance proceduresEnsures duties of the position are performed in a safe, efficient and effective mannerControls downtime by completing needed repairs and part replacements in a timely fashionFabricates repair parts by machining items to specifications as necessaryProvides mechanical maintenance information by informing production workers of routine techniques, answering questions, and responding to requestsMaintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and updating certified skill levelsMaintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulationsContributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and neededSupervisory/Management Responsibilities:Not ApplicableRequirements:High school graduate or equivalentAble to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staffMinimum three to five years related maintenance experienceBroad knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, AC drives, VFDs and PLCs Proficient electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skillsValid state driver’s licenseAble to work overtime and weekends as neededPreferred Qualifications: Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferredBilingual preferredPhysical Requirements:Able to lift in excess of 40 pounds dailyAble to tolerate extreme temperatures Able to operate variety of hand and power tools on a frequent, daily basisAble to occasionally climb, crouch, kneel and crawl to service variety of equipment This is a union position and comes with benefits provided by the union, upon completion of the 90 day probationary period.
