Restaurant Host - Hostess

We’re looking to hire an energetic and outgoing host/hostess with outstanding customer service skills. You’ll need excellent communication skills to answer phone inquiries and make reservations. Your main duties include welcoming guests and guiding them to a table that has been cleared and cleaned. You’ll ensure that there are enough seats for the entire party and check that each guest has tableware. Your attire should be professional and neat, with comfortable shoes so you can stand on your feet frequently throughout your shift. Responsibilities:

• Help clear and wipe down tables and set up tables with utensils and glassware for the next party
• Acknowledge all customers warmly immediately upon arrival to ensure their first impression of the restaurant is positive
• Guide diners to their seats and make sure everyone has the correct number of menus, utensils, napkins, and filled water glasses
• Learn the menu, including the daily specials and accurately describe how dishes are prepared
• Check the dining room constantly for cleanliness and organization and restock condiments on the table as necessary

Qualifications:

• Adapt easily to working in a fast-paced team environment with long hours of standing on feet and moving around
• Knowledge of the food and beverage industry and/or hospitality industry is appreciated but not a requirement
• Skills needed for this role include excellent people skills, time management, organization skills, and the ability to handle customer requests and situations quickly with a pleasant demeanor
• This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent GED and a good command of the English language
