ECU Health Physicians and The East Carolina Heart Institute at ECU Health Medical Center are seeking a Board-Certified/Board Eligible Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide acute patient care in their Medical Cardiac ICU. New graduates are welcome to apply.
Job Highlights Include
East Carolina Heart Institute is not one, but two separate buildings operating together as a single, dynamic institute. The East Carolina Heart Institute at ECU Health Medical Center is the region’s preferred facility for cardiovascular care. The six-story tower houses clinical space, diagnostic services and cardiovascular operating rooms, including a hybrid operating room and 13 interventional labs. It features 120 beds for patients undergoing procedures for cardiac medicine, cardiac surgery and vascular surgery.
East Carolina Heart Institute at ECU is an outpatient center and serves as the primary teaching and research location for the institute. It contains offices and research labs for cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, vascular surgeons and scientists, as well as exam rooms, a rehabilitation center and a 250-seat auditorium.

- 100% inpatient clinical care
- Clinical responsibilities will include rounding on ICU patients; performing procedures on assigned patients; admission, transfer, and discharge of patients; communication with consultants, patients, families, & nursing and allied health staff.
- (14) 12hr. shifts every 28 days with rotating days, nights, and weekends
- Ability to perform ICU procedures
- ACLS certification by the American Heart Association is required
