In addition to providing general medical and surgical services, ECU Health Duplin Hospital offers chemotherapy and other cancer infusion interventions and has earned national designation as a Primary Stroke Center.

As An MLT, You Will
- Prepare patient specimens as required for laboratory testing and perform laboratory tests specific to department.
- Monitor test results to assure test quality and validity.
- Communicate test results in a timely manner. Enter and retrieve data from laboratory computer systems.
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and environment.
- Demonstrate appropriate, caring behavior in the workplace, treating patients, their families, visitors and staff with respect and dignity.
- Works alternate shifts as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, phlebotomy.
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or currently enrolled in an accredited Clinical Laboratory Science Program (BS) and have completed the specific laboratory rotation (e.g. Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, and Transfusion Services).
- Equivalent laboratory training and/or work experience with the US military (2 years) will meet the education requirement.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency.
Other Information
- This is a PRN, as needed position
- Required to work: Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends
- May be required to work 4 to 12 hours shifts per operational demand needs
