As An MLS, You Will
- Prepare patient specimens as required for laboratory testing and perform laboratory tests specific to department.
- Monitor test results to assure test quality and validity.
- Communicate test results in a timely manner. Enter and retrieve data from laboratory computer systems.
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and environment.
- Demonstrate appropriate, caring behavior in the workplace, treating patients, their families, visitors and staff with respect and dignity.
- Work alternate shifts as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, phlebotomy.
- Bachelor degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or a biological, chemical, or physical science from an accredited institution. Bachelor degree with a combination of 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) in biology and chemistry, obtained within or in addition to the degree is also acceptable.
- For non-CLS/MT degrees, one year of experience in a clinical laboratory is required.
- Certification as MLS, BB, C, H or MB by ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency.
- 40 hours per week
- 4 (10 hour) Shifts: 7 am - 5:30 pm
- Required to work rotational weekends for every 3rd weekend and rotational holidays
