Job Description
ECU Health Physicians and ECU Health Medical Center, located in Greenville North Carolina ,are actively seeking board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeons (ABPS) to provide locums coverage. The locum’s provider will provide clinical care for a high-volume plastic surgery service that includes hand and facial trauma at ECU Health Medical center, a 974-bed level 1 Trauma center.
Coverage needed
July 1, 2026 – ongoing during recruitment
7am Friday thru 7am Monday – 2 weekends per month
Weekday coverage may be needed in July and August 2026
Seeking Providers Who Have Experience With Reconstructive Trauma Surgery
The candidate should actively be involved in the practice of reconstructive plastic surgery, specifically relating to trauma of the upper and lower extremities , hand surgery, and craniofacial trauma as well as experience in general plastic surgery.
Current or recent experience taking call at a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma center.

NC license required Inpatient and emergency department patient care Inpatient Census: 10 primary and consults Avg# of admissions/weekend: 2 mostly consults with some primary admissions # of Surgical Cases per weekend: 2 (No outpatient clinic responsibilities Call: nights and weekends ACLS and BLS required Strong OR and specialist support from surgical subspecialties (trauma/ACS surgery, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, general surgery, etc.) ICU Duties - no Respond to codes - no EPIC EHR

- Complex facial trauma reconstruction, both soft tissue and skeletal (full upper face, mid face and mandible, coverage of crania defects), both adult and pediatric
- Complex upper extremity trauma reconstruction including soft tissue (tendon, peripheral nerve, and vascular below the elbow, burns) and skeletal (distal radius, wrist, and hand), both adult and pediatric
- Complex lower extremity soft tissue reconstruction, adult and pediatric
- General plastic and reconstructive surgery, breast, and body
