The 142-bed full-service hospital is located in Washington and has earned national designation as a Primary Stroke Center. It is home to a 16-bed emergency department that serves approximately 25,000 patients per year, as well as the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center a provider of leading-edge chemotherapy and radiation therapy, among other cancer services. ECU Health Beaufort also offers general medical and surgical services, operative services, a womens birthing center, rehabilitation services and outpatient clinics.

As a Laboratory Assistant, You Will
- Perform venous and capillary collection of blood specimens for analysis. Process specimens for analysis and reference testing. With supervision, may perform waived and moderately complex testing. May perform chain-of-custody drug collections. Performs various other support services for the laboratory as assigned. Maintains required documentation to comply with accrediting agencies.
- Perform duties consistent with written procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Support the department in achieving department goals for service, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, patient satisfaction, healthy work environment, and integration of intra and inter-departmental activities.
- High School, Equivalent (GED), or higher
- Completion of a structured phlebotomy training course and clinical rotation is recommended.
- 6 months experience in a hospital or reference laboratory setting, physician office, outpatient clinic, or other medical setting is preferred.

- 40 hours per week
- Monday - Friday (Primarily 8 am - 4:30 pm)
- Required to work rotational weekends and holidays
