Position Summary

The ECU Health Foundation is seeking a creative and detail-oriented professional to support philanthropic digital content development, graphic design, donor engagement and stewardship efforts. This role plays a key part in advancing fundraising and communication strategies through compelling visuals and effective and creative storytelling with strong project coordination and collaboration. This role will have a strong focus on ECU Health Foundation donor engagement projects and initiatives for the colleges and schools of the health sciences at ECU.

Reporting to the Manager, Donor Relations, the Donor Engagement Creative Specialist serves as a dynamic project assistant supporting digital content, graphic design and donor engagement initiatives. Responsibilities include developing and managing website and platform content, while ensuring all materials align with established brand guidelines. The position plays a key role in creating high-quality visual assets for fundraising and communications initiatives, as well as assisting the Donor Relations team with digital engagement efforts.

The Donor Engagement Creative Specialist collaborates closely with the Donor Relations team to support philanthropic communications, donor stewardship and fundraising campaigns through compelling copywriting, graphic design and multimedia content. This role is responsible for capturing and producing photo and video content for use across digital channels, contributing to the overall ECU Health Foundation social media strategy.

Additionally, this position manages project workflows in project management software to enhance team coordination and visibility, partners with internal and external stakeholders on communications projects and assists with event planning and logistics, special projects and print production from concept to final deliverables. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of digital fundraising strategies, including email marketing and social media.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as project assistant for website content, including copywriting and graphic design.
  • Familiarity of online website platforms.
  • Develop and implement UI, copywriting and content design for pages on platforms, including survey platforms and digital fundraising platforms.
  • Experienced graphic design skills for fundraising projects and production using online design platforms to develop high-quality, on-brand visual assets.
  • Implement brand guidelines and maintain brand approvals on all graphic design work.
  • Manage and optimize project workflows within project management software to improve visibility and team coordination.
  • Assist with any communication or graphic design needs in e-communication platform.
  • Provide assistance with philanthropic communications and donor engagement and stewardship, including writing short-format copy, and graphic design to compliment overall strategy.
  • Assist with content ideas and execution for social media as it relates to the overall strategy.
  • Work in collaboration with internal stakeholders and team members to capture photo and video content for use on multiple communication channels through the direction of the digital strategy/plan.
  • Provide assistance to the Donor Relations team for graphic design projects and collaboration as needed.
  • Partner with ECU Health, ECU communications and ECU University Advancement on projects as needed.
  • Assist with special event planning and logistics as needed.
  • Assist Donor Relations team with special projects as needed.
  • Experienced skillset with the implementation of fundraising efforts related to online giving strategies, including email marketing, social media and peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns.
  • Serve as a communication liaison between ECU Health Foundation, ECU University Advancement, and Health Sciences Campus units.
  • Implement communication strategies and tactics supporting philanthropic priorities for the units of ECU's health sciences campus.
  • Deep understanding of higher education and health sciences audiences, with the ability to align communications strategies across philanthropy, institutional leadership and community impact.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required. Preference given to degrees in Communication or Marketing.
    • Higher education experience preferred.
  • 5-6 years of work experience in mass communications, marketing, creative or graphic design.
  • 3-5 years of work experience in non-profit, philanthropy or fundraising preferred.
  • Creative portfolio required.
  • Advanced experience using CanvaPro to create brand aligned assets and graphic design required. Adobe creative suite experience preferred.
  • Proven experience with platforms such as (or similar to) JotForm, Constant Contact, Monday.com, SharePoint, Classy (GoFundMePro).
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with event photography and videography using professional equipment preferred.
  • Experience in collaboration across multi-departmental organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, time management skills and ability to take initiative on tasks required.
  • Ability to take projects from start to finish with minimal supervision or assistance.
Pay Range

$53,913.60 - $78,581.36/year

Other Information

  • Hybrid role (based out of Greenville, NC):
    • 3 days onsite, 2 days work from home
  • Monday - Friday full-time day shift:
    • Some nights or weekends required based on special events
