Position Summary
The Clinical Risk Manager is responsible for the systems risk management activities, which include a working knowledge of the self-insurance and captive insurance programs, executing the risk management program on a daily basis, analyzing events for risks and liabilities, and providing ongoing assessment of risks to minimize loss to the organization. Utilize skills to complete complex investigations and identify regulatory and other loss exposures.

As a Clinical Risk Manager, You Will
- Support the delivery of 24-hour on-call risk services to the health system.
- Serve as a resource to both team members and providers for clinical risk related matters.
- Conduct investigations of complaints and potentially compensable events to include chart reviews, interviews, peer review, billing analysis and document findings and utilize clinical expertise to evaluate potential exposure.
- Collaborate with Quality, operational leaders and medical staff to implement strategies to reduce clinical and operational events.
- Coordinate the development and delivery of education focused on risk reduction of exposures for providers and clinical staff.
- Maintain processes and structures to analyze, investigate and monitor regulatory and other matters including SMDA, EMTALA, restraint death reporting, controlled substance diversion, etc.
- Conduct data driven analysis to ensure clinical practices align with local, state, regulatory and standard of care and demonstrates thorough understanding of the healthcare environment and delivery of safe patient care,
- Work independently on special projects to reduce loss exposures.
- Provide guidance and be a mentor to Risk Managers and other Risk Management team members.
- RN licensure required with 5 years clinical experience.
- Masters degree preferred.
- 40 hours per week
- Remote: Monday - Friday (8 am - 5 pm)
