About The Outer Banks Hospital
The Outer Banks Hospital is a full-service critical access hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The 21-bed facility is designed to meet the needs of the coastal community, whose year-round population of approximately 35,000 swells to about 350,000 in the summer season. Its campus includes four ORs, a medical/surgical unit, a labor & delivery suite with a dedicated caesarian section OR, a full rehabilitation therapy center, cancer treatment and radiation therapy center, and a 24-hour emergency department.

Position Summary
The Assistant Laboratory Manager will supervise daily laboratory activities and personnel in the area of responsibilities (e.g., writing procedures, employee scheduling, laboratory inspections, Quality Control, new instrument setup and correlation, proficiency testing, employee evaluations and disciplinary coaching, and other special assignments). Will assist in recommendation for hiring and/or termination of personnel. Perform clinical laboratory testing when routine bench load warrants 50% of the time and assist with employee training and competency. Assumes responsibilities of the manager in their absence and assist with budget preparation.
Minimum Requirements
BS Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or Biologic Science
Experience
Four (4) years of current/related clinical laboratory experience is required.
Generalist experience to include Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Blood Bank.
Supervisory and/or Senior Technologist experience in the laboratory or clinical setting is preferred.
Licensure/Certification
MLS/MT (ASCP, AMT, HEW, or equivalent) certification is required.

- Monday - Friday (8 am - 4:30 pm)
- Occasional weekends and nights
