We are looking to hire an R&D Intern for our R&D laboratory in Fuquay-Varina, NC. This internship is expected to begin in Spring 2026, for a duration of approximately 3 months. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience with a research and development team in the water treatment industry.

We are looking to hire an R&D Intern for our R&D laboratory in Fuquay-Varina, NC. This internship is expected to begin in Spring 2026, for a duration of approximately 3 months. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience with a research and development team in the water treatment industry.
Role
In this role, you will play a key role in our team’s development of cutting-edge soil, water and vapor treatment technologies:
- Assist with performing cutting-edge R&D experiments using ion exchange and adsorbent medias, focused on developing novel treatment technologies for water and air streams.
- Collect samples for laboratory testing as necessary; analyze, understand and compute lab sample results.
- Assist in data management efforts incorporating data visualization tools to recognize patterns and relationships in data sets.
- Assist with reviewing and supporting research with peer-reviewed scientific articles.
- Update chemical and equipment inventories.
- Be an integral part of our safety culture, approaching all aspects of work with a safety-first attitude.
- Observe and practice the company’s WHS, Environmental and Quality policy, guidelines and procedures.
- Report any quality, environmental, safety incidents or hazards at work in accordance with established management system processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering curriculum.
- Prior experience in a Laboratory Technician or R&D role preferred
- Experience in wet chemistry techniques, including micro pipetting, dilution calculations, stoichiometry, pH measurements, and titrations.
- Self-motivated with a high sense of urgency, willing to take hands on work, and be able to manage several projects and tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently or in a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Google Suite products
- Comfortable using hand and portable power tools
- Availability for occasional weekend and late-night hours
