Cylinder/Sample Pick-Up Driver

Responsibilities

• Drives to project sites to pick up test samples
• Complies and maintains good standing with the ECS Diving Criteria
• Additional responsibilities may include:
• Performs laboratory tests on construction materials under the direction of the laboratory manager and assists with field work as needed (if performing these duties, then certifications will be required)
• Works in a team environment with other staff members to maintain a clean and organized laboratory in compliance with QA/QC initiatives and accreditation requirements
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 90 days of experience
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver's license; CDL if required for the vehicle type
• Clean driving record and knowledge of local/regional routes
• Excellent driving skills with a pattern of good driving history
• Ability to properly record collected information
• Ability to read maps and follow directions
• Knowledge of concrete laboratory equipment and test methods preferred
  
  

Work Environment

• Ability to be regularly exposed to outside weather conditions such as wet and/or humid environments, extreme cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments
• Ability to handle moderate to moderately loud noises
• Ability to work some weekends and overtime as requested
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to drive, load, and unload on construction sites involving long-term standing, sitting, and repetitive motions
• Ability to use your hands; reach, climb, or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel, and sit
• Ability to see and smell; including close, distance, and peripheral vision
• Ability to focus
• Ability to drive a hundred miles or more per day
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 60-80 pounds
