Class B CDL Driver

As a CDL Class B Truck Driver, you will operate a waste hauling truck to provide residential trash and recycling pickup. You will lift and carry residential waste and deposit it into a compactor throughout your route. The ideal candidate stays attentive to safety, reports any defects, accidents, or violations, and inspects vehicles for mechanical and safety issues along the way. Responsibilities
- Safely operates a waste hauling truck within approximately 150 miles of home.
- Completes daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Complies with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, break periods, etc.) as well as company policies and procedures.
- Maneuvers trucks into loading or unloading positions.
- Lifts and carries residential waste and deposits it into a compactor.
- Inspects vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and reports preventative maintenance needs to the management team.
- Reports any defects, accidents, or violations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable Class B driving experience required.
- CDL Class A or B required.
- No more than one moving violation on MVR within the last 3 years.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Regularly operates a commercial vehicle within approximately 150 miles of home.
- Frequently lifts and carries residential waste and deposits it into a compactor throughout the shift.
- Regular entering, exiting, and maneuvering of the truck for loading and unloading.
- Work is performed on the road in varying weather conditions.
- Schedule is home daily, Monday through Friday, with shifts typically running 10-12 hours; additional hours may be needed based on business needs.
