Full-Time Hospital Linen Porter - Two Site Coverage

Summary of Position

To support leading linen management practices and customer experience, Ecotex Healthcare Linen Services LLC. is currently seeking a full-time Hospital Linen Distribution Porter to serve two of our Buffalo, N.Y. customers. This role will cover two sites, within 15 minutes of one another, and is required 5 days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities

In support of effective on-site linen management, and to enable a safe, comfortable patient care environment, the Ecotex Linen Porter will be responsible for the following key duties:

Specific Scope of Services

· Receive, offload, stage and deliver clean linen to pre-identified areas in two healthcare locations within a 15 minute commute by car.

· Ensure neat and tidy combining of linens and staging of extra linen in the linen room.

· Deliver required clean linen to department linen carts ensuring appropriate linen levels are maintained.

· Ensure clean linen carts follow Ecotex and hospital Standard Cart Make Up Operating Procedures.

· Collect and load soiled linen into linen carts at both locations. Load soiled linen carts onto trailer at one location.

· Lead Orange Return Linen Bag placement, exchange and return to the Ecotex Plant for processing.

· Ensure aLEX and ScrubEx machines are loaded and replenished on schedule as per linen porter workstreams.

· Collection and staging of empty linen carts in identified locations.

· Treat all hospital staff, patients and visitors with courtesy, dignity, and respect.

· Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Knowledge

· MANDATORY: Demonstrated reliable attendance and punctuality is a must.

· MANDATORY: Reliable transportation.

· MANDATORY: Ability to push and pull 100lbs.

· Working knowledge of hospital linen services would be an asset.

· Minimum of grade twelve (12) or equivalent.

· Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal required.

· Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.

· Demonstrated interpersonal skills, and the ability to work alone or as a part of a team.

· Must have significant attention to detail while being neat and efficient.

· Must have exceptional customer service and communication skills, treating all colleagues and hospital staff with respect.

· Ability to exercise good judgement and sensitivity in dealing with hospital information.

· Ability to prioritize and successfully resolve issues with high sense of urgency and customer experience focus.

· Strong attention to detail and follow through.
