Position Summary: We are seeking a Junior Environmental Scientist to support environmental compliance, field investigations, and regulatory inspection projects for industrial, commercial, and construction sector clients. This role involves fieldwork, technical reporting, sampling, and compliance support across multiple environmental programs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare environmental compliance plans including SPCC, SWPPP, ERP, Hazardous Waste Contingency, and E&S plans
• Conduct AST/UST STI inspections and stormwater compliance inspections
• Perform erosion & sediment control inspections and BMP evaluations
• Collect environmental samples (soil, groundwater, stormwater, air, waste) in accordance with EPA/state protocols
• Assist with wetland delineations using USACE methodologies
• Prepare field documentation, inspection reports, and regulatory submissions
• Support spill response, waste management, and environmental field activities
• Track environmental data and support corrective action implementation
• Coordinate with project managers and support field logistics
Qualifications and Skills:
• B.S. in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
• 0–3 years of environmental consulting, compliance, or field experience
• Working knowledge of SPCC, SWPPP, NPDES, E&S controls, and environmental sampling methods
• Strong technical writing, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to work outdoors and travel to project sites as required
• Valid driver’s license required
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification
• Experience with GIS/GPS field tools
• Construction, industrial, or environmental compliance experience
