Vice President of Construction | Data Center / Mission Critical Projects | Miami, FL
A rapidly growing infrastructure and technology organization is seeking an execution-focused Vice President of Construction to lead the delivery of a large-scale hyperscale / AI-ready data center build from groundbreaking through commissioning.
This is a true owner-operator role where you will serve as the accountable leader responsible for the full execution of your project including schedule, budget, safety, quality, contractor management, and overall delivery performance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on builder with deep mission critical construction experience who can independently run large-scale sites while driving execution excellence in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
• Own the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale mission critical data center construction project from preconstruction through final handover and commissioning
• Serve as the accountable owner for overall project execution including budget, schedule, safety, quality, and contractor performance
• Lead all aspects of construction oversight including permitting, site mobilization, vertical construction, commissioning, and turnover
• Interview, select, negotiate with, and manage prime contractors throughout the full construction lifecycle
• Own commercial and contractual negotiations under AIA agreements in partnership with legal and finance teams
• Drive execution excellence across the site while ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational standards are consistently met
• Implement standardized construction processes, reporting structures, and change order management workflows
• Partner cross-functionally with design, engineering, operations, finance, and executive leadership teams to ensure seamless project delivery
• Act as the senior on-site voice for all construction-related matters associated with the build
• Mentor and develop junior analysts and associates supporting the project team
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 15 years of construction management or general contracting experience within large-scale data center, industrial, or mission critical infrastructure environments
• Proven experience running large-scale construction builds end-to-end as the accountable owner
• Strong hyperscale, AI-ready, or multi-hundred-megawatt data center experience preferred
• Deep understanding of AIA contracts, contractor negotiations, bid processes, and change order management
• Strong familiarity with mission critical electrical, mechanical, structural, and MEP systems
• Hands-on construction leadership style with strong field management and execution experience
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and stakeholder management abilities
• Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, or related construction management platforms preferred
Location:
• Onsite at active construction project sites
• Travel required depending on project location
