We are seeking a Mixer Machine Operator who is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for operating mixer equipment, ensuring product quality, maintaining production standards, and supporting overall manufacturing operations.
What You'll Do
Machine Operation & Production
- Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and adjust mixer equipment following established procedures and production specifications.
- Review work orders, formulas, and material requirements prior to production.
- Weigh and load raw materials into the mixer according to established formulas.
- Operate mixer controls and monitor production cycles.
- Pour mixed material into molds and use hydraulic presses to achieve required specifications.
- Operate production equipment including:
- Mixer
- Scales
- Hydraulic Presses
- Mold Lifts
- Hoists
- Polymer Systems
- Perform equipment cleaning according to SOPs and manufacturer specifications.
Quality & Safety
- Follow all quality standards and manufacturing procedures.
- Inspect products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure quality requirements are met.
- Adhere to all workplace safety policies and PPE requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Material Handling
- Safely operate forklifts, hoists, bucket trucks, and other material-handling equipment.
- Move raw materials and finished products while following all safety requirements.
- Transfer, separate, and load EPDM materials according to production specifications.
Documentation & Team Support
- Enter and review production data, work orders, and inventory information using computer systems.
- Communicate production status and issues with supervisors and management.
- Assist with SOP creation, documentation updates, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Cross-train in other production functions as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED OR 4 years of machine operation/manufacturing experience.
- Previous manufacturing experience.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic math skills and understanding of units of measure.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred
- Previous mixer or machine-specific operating experience.
- Forklift certification and/or experience.
- Bucket truck experience.
- ERP system experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials:
- Up to 130 lbs occasionally
- Up to 50 lbs frequently
- Up to 20 lbs continuously
- Ability to safely operate machinery and material-handling equipment.
- Manual dexterity to handle materials and operate equipment.
- Ability to hear and respond to workplace instructions and safety alerts.
Work Environment
This position works in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to:
- High-pressure air, steam, and gas systems
- Chemical fumes and dust
- Extreme temperatures
- Loud noise levels
- Heavy machinery and industrial equipment
- Dirty or confined working conditions
Required PPE may include:
- Safety glasses
- Steel-toe/composite-toe boots
- Hearing protection
- Other safety equipment as required
