Daily Functions:
Arbor Grounds Specialist (Driver) supports tree care operations by assisting arborists and climbers from the ground while also transporting crew members, tools, and equipment to and from job sites using trucks and trailers.
Their responsibilities include operating equipment such as a wood chipper, clearing branches and debris, handling ropes, operating a stump grinder, directing traffic for safety, and assisting with basic pruning. They also help with site cleanup, storm damage removal, and sometimes holiday lighting installation.
This is typically an entry-to-mid level role and often serves as a stepping stone to becoming a tree climber (arborist).
Minimum Requirements:
The position requires good physical fitness, safe driving skills, and the ability to work outdoors in demanding conditions, including hot weather.
Must be able to drive an approved company vehicle
Must wear PPE at all times when on the clock
Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
Must be able to be trained on all power equipment for the job
Must know how to run ropes on rigging work with climbers
Must be able to understand and learn how to use a tree wood chipper machine safely
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test
