Construction Timekeeper/Recruiter
Job Description
- The Construction Project Timekeeper/Recruiter is responsible for accurately recording and maintaining daily manpower attendance, work hours, overtime, and job assignments on construction sites. In addition to timekeeping duties, this role supports workforce staffing needs by assisting with the recruitment, screening, and onboarding of personnel. The position ensures accurate documentation for payroll, labor cost control, and project reporting while working closely with project managers, site supervisors, and HR/Payroll teams.
Responsibilities
Timekeeping & Reporting
- Record and track daily attendance and work hours for all site personnel.
- Verify timesheets with foremen, site supervisors, and project managers.
- Prepare daily manpower reports and weekly/monthly labor summaries.
- Enter and maintain time records in the company timekeeping system.
- Track and report absences, late arrivals, early departures, and worker replacements.
- Maintain organized and accurate files of timesheets and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with HR and Payroll to support payroll processing and labor cost reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, labor regulations, and project requirements.
- Recruiting & Workforce SupportCoordinate with project managers and site supervisors to identify current and upcoming manpower needs.
- Source and screen candidates for construction and project-based positions.
- Verify candidate qualifications, certifications, licenses, and work authorization.
- Assist with onboarding processes, including new hire paperwork, orientation scheduling, and site-specific requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee and applicant records.
- Support workforce planning by monitoring staffing levels and turnover.
- Serve as a point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring and onboarding process.
- Collaborate with HR and Payroll to ensure smooth transitions from hire to active employment and payroll status.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable labor laws.
