ECDI is looking for a Food Incubator Coordinator for our Columbus headquarters.
Reporting to the Director of Food Incubation Services, the Food Incubator Coordinator supports the operation and maintenance of the Food Fort facility by performing routine janitorial duties, preventative maintenance, and facility support tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and compliant environment for members. This role works closely with the Food Incubator Manager and Director of Infrastructure to address facility needs, troubleshoot issues, and maintain compliance with Ohio Department of Agriculture and Columbus Health Department guidelines while contributing to the ongoing development and delivery of ECDI’s Food Incubation programming.
The person in this role is required to work onsite 100% of the time to service the Food Fort facilities and its clients.
The starting annual salary range for this position is $45,000-$50,000. Candidates for this position must be located in the Central Ohio Area.
Responsibilities:
Programmatic Responsibilities:
- Assist management with support of various Food Incubation programming, including but not limited to providing support with events, class and volunteer coordination including set-up, tear down, communications, and relevant data entry.
- Assist Food Incubator Manager with development and operations of the Community Garden program.
Facilities Management Responsibilities:
- Conduct and support routine and preventative maintenance tasks and correction of issues on the equipment in Food Fort locations as necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of and pursue on-the-job learning and training for commercial kitchen equipment.
- Troubleshoot issues with facilities and equipment.
- Assist the Food Incubator Manager with maintaining logs of equipment warranties, repair history, and general and preventative maintenance service dates.
- Assist with the management of third-party onsite coordination of services for facilities and equipment.
Food Safety and Sanitation Responsibilities:
- Execute a regular schedule of activities, as directed by the Incubator Manager, that need to occur on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, such as maintaining equipment temperature logs, fog logs, and regular deep clean of facilities.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the Food Fort members’ cleaning checklist; update the Food Incubator Manager on any inconsistencies with members’ compliance.
- Maintain a working knowledge of members’ products to help ensure proper storage and handling of product(s).
- Monitor trash/recycling/compost needs, communicating with the Food Incubator Manager when there are issues.
- Assist with food safety inspection, corrective action plans, and assessment of member needs for operation.
Inventory Responsibilities:
- Ensure inventory levels for chemicals, paper goods, janitorial supplies and all other facility needs are sufficient and report when they are low to Food Incubator Manager to initiate ordering process.
Other Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate client files, documents, and profiles for necessary paper files and in appropriate tracking systems.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of and adhere to all ECDI policies and procedures.
- Participate in meetings and provide feedback for improvement for the department.
- Perform other related activities and contribute to special projects, as required, to ensure department and organizational success.
Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment, and techniques.
- Working knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment usage and cleaning protocols.
- General accounting knowledge to support invoice payments and policies is a plus.
- Computer Skills:
- Experience with and knowledge of computer operation.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Proficient understanding of database or CRM systems required.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma, GED, or its equivalent required.
- Three or more (3 ) years of experience in food and beverage management or manufacturing.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Level 2 Servsafe Managers Certification preferred; must be able to obtain certification within three (3) months of hire.
Other:
- The person in this role is required to work onsite 100% of the time to service the Food Fort facilities and its clients.
- Must have access to transportation in order to travel to and from the office and between ECDI facilities.
- Typically, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% or more of the time. The person in this position will occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, commercial kitchen equipment, etc., and operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a copy machine and computer printer.
- Positions self to move items up to 50 pounds, such as printer paper boxes across the office as needed.
- Must avoid risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
