Hotel Maintenance Engineer

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team at Econo Lodge Black Hills in Rapid City, SD. The ideal candidate will be reliable, experienced, and able to handle all areas of hotel maintenance, from small repairs to larger projects. This position is full-time, Monday through Friday (40 hours per week). On-site accommodation is available for qualified single candidates.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks throughout the hotel
• Troubleshoot and fix issues related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliances
• Handle guest room and common-area repair requests in a timely manner
• Complete preventative maintenance duties as assigned
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Work independently and communicate effectively with hotel management

Requirements

• Minimum 1–2 years of maintenance experience required (3–4 years preferred)
• Strong knowledge of general hotel or building maintenance
• Ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of issues
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with limited supervision
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical maintenance tasks
• Must live locally or be able to respond to the property quickly in the event of an emergency.
• Full-time availability, Monday–Friday

Compensation:
This role offers $15–$25 per hour DOE (Depending on Experience). The wide range reflects our willingness to hire candidates with different skill levels—from those with solid basic maintenance experience to those with stronger technical abilities in areas such as plumbing, electrical, or HVAC. Final pay will be determined during the interview based on experience, certifications, and overall fit for the position.
