What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Personnel/Housekeeper position at Econo Lodge Crestview?
Responsibilities:
- Understand operation of washing machines and dryers.
- Sort all hotel linen according to type, color, size, etc.
- Pre-treat all stained linen before washing.
- Load and unload washes according to standards. Wash and dry all dirty linens, towels, rags, etc.
- Fold towels and linens.
- Clean dryer filter daily and maintain all equipment as trained.
- Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry carts.
- Maintain clean work area by keeping laundry carts clean and free of debris.
- Sweep and mop laundry floors, storing all linens off the floor.
- Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service. You will work hand to hand with the Housekeeping department
- Help guests - you’ll be happy to help if someone needs a toothbrush or directions for example
- Keep your supervisor updated on the department’s daily operation progress and alert them to any repairs needed
- Safety aware – always follow our established safety procedures - and wear protective equipment when needed
- Be organized - keep on top of supplies and amenities and always try to minimize waste
- Communicate any lost and found items to Management.
- Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service
- May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects for rooms and public areas
- May assist with other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- It’s a physical role and you’ll be on your feet most of the day
- Strength – with occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds / 23 kilograms and or push/pulling heavy objects
- You’ll might need to bend and kneel to complete some activities
- Flexible attitude to shifts – you may need to work weekends and/or holidays
