Quality Control Operator for GMP Consumer Goods Manufacturing Company
Position Overview:
Contract manufacturer of personal care consumer products, located in Fairfield County, CT, seeks an experienced Quality Control Operator for filling and packaging operations in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Responsibilities of the Quality Control Operator:
Quality Control Operators are responsible for the following activities:
Incoming Materials Inspection
Logging receipts
Comparing receipts item and quantity against PO and Packing Slip
Chemical retain sampling
Evaluation of packaging components per item specific inspection SOP
Application of release stickers and placards on packaging components within specification.
Organizing and maintaining logs of chemical and production retains
Daily and Weekly monitoring of temperature loggers throughout building.
Daily scale verification of QC and Production Area scales.
In Process (Filling and Packaging) Inspection
Ensuring all required documentation including BOM’s and SOP’s are present prior to production.
Sign-off on Line clearance prior to production.
In-process inspections during production (fill weight, seal integrity, label application, lot and expiration date coding, etc).
Entering production tickets.
Monitoring production rate and total quantity.
Placarding of Finish Good pallets.
Inspection of Palletized Finished Goods.
Post production Label reconciliation.
Collecting and scanning of all QC and manufacturing documention.
Additional Skills Required of Quality Control Operators:
- Knowledge of computers and basic software like Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to do basic arithmetic calculations.
- Ability to read, understand and follow procedures precisely.
- Spanish language fluency a plus
Work Environment:
- This is a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat and cold.
- Extended periods of standing required.
Experience and Educational Background
- Minimum High school graduate or equivalent. College Experience Preferred. Will consider exceptional candidates with significant work experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a quality control operator.
Salary
- Commensurate with ability and experience. $18/hr - $22/hr.
