EDI Expert & Project Manager (On Prem)

ECOM Specialist LLC is a USA-Dallas-based IBM & SAP Business Partner. We are seeking a highly skilled EDI Expert with a deep understanding of EDI X12 standards and expertise in Order to Cash (O2C) processing; in addition project management skills are required. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes, ensuring seamless integration between business partners, and enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of our Order-to-cash cycle.

Essential Job Functions

• EDI X12 Expertise: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with EDI X12 standards, including but not limited to 850 (Purchase Order), 810 (Invoice), 856 (Advance Ship Notice), and 997 (Functional Acknowledgment).
• Communication: Experience and good Understanding of communication protocols (AS2, FTP, SFTP, VAN, WebSphere MQ) and Linux/Unix.
• Order to Cash Processing: Oversee and optimize the Order to Cash (O2C) cycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing of orders, invoicing, payments, and reconciliation.
• Integration Management: Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and vendors to establish, maintain, and troubleshoot EDI connections, ensuring data integrity and compliance with trading partner requirements.
• EDI Mapping & Translation: Design, develop, and implement EDI maps, ensuring proper translation of data formats between different systems and trading partners.
• Testing & Validation: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of EDI transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to business rules and regulatory standards.
• Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve EDI-related issues, discrepancies, and failures promptly, minimizing impact on business operations and customer satisfaction.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains within the O2C cycle and EDI operations.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of EDI processes, configurations, mappings, and protocols, ensuring clarity, consistency, and ease of reference for stakeholders.
• Compliance & Security: Ensure EDI operations adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and data security protocols, safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT, Supply Chain, Sales, Finance, and Customer Service, to support business objectives and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in EDI analysis, with a focus on Order to Cash processing.
• Proficient understanding of EDI X12 standards, protocols, and best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience with EDI software, mapping tools, and integration platforms.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and CRM systems is a plus.
