What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ecolibrium3 AmeriCorps Member position at Ecolibrium3?
AmeriCorps is a national service program that helps people serve communities across the United States. Members of all ages and backgrounds serve directly with local community organizations to tackle issues such as poverty, education, disaster response, healthy futures, environmental stewardship, and economic opportunity. AmeriCorps offers opportunities with different time commitments and requirements. AmeriCorps programs provide benefits for members, including education awards, housing stipends, living allowances, and health benefits.
Ecolibrium3 has three AmeriCorps programs: VISTA, Energy Training Corps, and Food Corps. In these programs, members serve individually or as a team, helping solve community problems through direct and indirect service in a variety of areas. The Eco3 programs provide a cohort experience for members to work, connect, and learn together.
VISTA
AmeriCorps VISTA members serve for a year, building the capacity of local organizations with the ultimate goal of eradicating poverty. The Eco3 VISTA Corps focuses on addressing poverty holistically from various angles, such as food access, community development, energy security, and more. Members will gain valuable experience, professional development, and build their resume through a service year. The Eco3 VISTA Corps has several positions available, ranging from communications to social connectedness.
Energy Training Corps
The Energy Training Corps equips members with robust training and energy industry certifications. Members gain valuable energy industry experience to prepare them for careers in this growing field. By the end of their service, members will be well-positioned to step into full-time employment as energy auditors or weatherization technicians. They will also have the building science knowledge needed to enter the HVAC or solar fields.
Food Corps
The Food Corps is a direct-service program to increase access to local, healthy foods in our community through a variety of agricultural, natural resources management, and community engagement activities. Activities for members may include farming at the Eco3 Urban Farm, supporting community programming at the LNPK Grocery store, performing invasive species management in community green spaces, and more.
