Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all areas of the facility.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and industrial vacuums to ensure thorough sanitation.
- Handle chemical agents safely while performing cleaning tasks, adhering strictly to chemical handling safety procedures.
- Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and proper floor care techniques to ensure a pristine appearance.
- Conduct custodial maintenance including restocking supplies, sanitizing restrooms, and ensuring all areas meet sanitation standards.
- Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks to prevent injuries and ensure safe lifting practices.
- Support general facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs or reporting larger issues for prompt resolution.
Requirements
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment operation (including floor buffers), and sanitation standards.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely with proper understanding of chemical handling safety procedures.
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while maintaining safe lifting practices.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Good communication skills with a customer service-oriented mindset when interacting with staff or visitors.
