Practice Leader - Global Regulated Carbon Markets

Position Summary


EcoEngineers is seeking a Global Practice Leader – Regulated Markets to lead our evolving market access and value creation strategy in global clean fuel, carbon compliance markets and other regulated sustainability markets. This role goes beyond traditional regulatory advisory to focus on how clients unlock, optimize, and monetize opportunities within regulated markets across the world. The right individual will bring a deep understanding of how access to regulatory information and commercial impacts are being transformed through the latest tools of agentic AI and will lead a consulting practice in this evolving world.

You will serve as a senior subject matter expert and strategic advisor, helping clients translate regulatory complexity into clear pathways for market access.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of Eco’s Market Access offering, focused on enabling clients to capture value from regulated markets (e.g., RFS, LCFS, CFR, RED, and emerging global programs).
  • Serve as Eco’s leading authority on regulated carbon/sustainability markets with a focus on knowledge delivery mechanisms, regulated market mechanics and credit monetization strategies.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory developments through a commercial lens, identifying how policy changes impact pricing, incentives, and competitive positioning.
  • Advise clients on how and when to access markets, including incentive qualification, pricing dynamics, and commercialization strategy.
  • Provide insight into regulatory risk, competitive positioning, and market opportunity.
  • Develop tools and frameworks such as ROI models, cost-benefit analyses, and market readiness programs.
  • Partner with sales and leadership to support business development, client strategy, and go-to-market initiatives.
  • Represent Eco externally through thought leadership, industry engagement, and key stakeholder relationships.
  • Support Eco’s operations, project management, and service delivery teams using subject matter expertise in delivery of Eco’s work to clients.
  • Partner with technical teams to integrate subject matter expertise into scalable delivery models.

Estimated responsibilities split

  • 33% leading the strategy and digital transformation of EcoEngineers’ regulatory client advisory work
  • 33% supporting EcoEngineers’ Growth & Development team through client calls, thought leadership, conference participation, etc.
  • 33% supporting Eco’s operations team in delivery of work through subject matter expertise, technical resource, delivery quality reviewer, etc.

Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of experience in regulated markets, compliance, trading, or related commercial roles.
  • Deep knowledge of global clean fuel regulations (RFS, LCFS, CFP, RED) and their market access and pricing implications.
  • Experience advising clients or supporting market-facing, revenue-generating strategies.
  • Strong ability to translate technical and regulatory concepts into commercial outcomes.
  • Strong vision of the future of the knowledge economy and how a consulting practice can navigate it.
