We are looking for a strong, disciplined Used Car Manager for our Tewksbury, MA location who can take ownership of our entire used-vehicle pipeline, from buying to merchandising to pricing to wholesale.

What We're Looking For
A Used Car Manager with:
- Strong experience buying retail-ready used vehicles
- Ability to source from private sellers, dealer trades, auctions, and wholesalers
- Knowledge of MMR, Black Book, KBB, vAuto, and market-based pricing
- Discipline in inventory management and recon flow
- Strong merchandising standards (photos, descriptions, listing accuracy)
- Proven ability to make quick retail vs wholesale decisions
- Ability to maintain clean, organized, retail-ready inventory
- Strong communication with service, sales, and leadership
- Dealertrack experience is preferred
- Prior used car management, buyer, or acquisition role required
Primary ResponsibilitiesInventory Acquisition
- Source 60–75 vehicles per month
- Message and negotiate with private sellers
- Build and manage relationships with wholesalers
- Appraise accurately and make strong purchase offers
- Coordinate seller appointments and intake process
Inventory Management
- Manage recon flow and ensure fast turn times
- Track every unit from acquisition → recon → merchandising → retail
- Maintain inventory organization and lot readiness
- Identify aged units and recommend retail or wholesale exit plans
Merchandising Quality
- Ensure every vehicle is photographed, described, and listed correctly
- Work with sales and marketing to keep listings clean and competitive
- Monitor listing quality across website marketplaces
Pricing Strategy
- Use valuation tools (MMR, Black Book, etc.) to price accurately
- Adjust pricing weekly based on market movement and competition
- Work with GM to maximize volume and front-end/back-end gross
Wholesale
- Evaluate aged units weekly
- Sell wholesale when appropriate to protect cashflow
- Maintain relationships with local buyers
- Manage wholesale margins and exit strategy
Daily/Weekly Targets
Daily:
- 40–60 outreach messages
- 15 seller conversations
- 3–5 written offers
- 1–2 purchased units
Weekly:
- 20–25 units purchased
- All bought units pushed through recon → photo → listing
Monthly:
- 60–75 units acquired
- Aged inventory under 45 days
- Strong retail/wholesale mix and margin discipline
Success Looks Like
- Over 50% of our inventory acquired throguh private sale/dealer trades.
- A strong, constant flow of quality inventory
- Clean merchandising and accurate pricing
- Fast recon and consistent lot readiness
- Low aged inventory
- Strong margin retention
- Clear communication and smooth operations across departments
