About the Position
Eco Waste Compacting is seeking a motivated and dependable Commercial Driver & Equipment Operator to join our growing team. In this role, you will safely operate our specialized mobile trash compaction truck while delivering exceptional service to commercial customers throughout Northern California.
Our fleet features state-of-the-art equipment designed to compact waste in open-top dumpsters, helping businesses reduce hauling costs and improve efficiency. We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining equipment, operating safely, and providing outstanding customer service.
This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys working independently, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and is comfortable operating both commercial vehicles and hydraulic equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Operations Manager.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and document results using company mobile applications.
- Safely operate a Kenworth T270 commercial truck and transport equipment to customer locations.
- Position and maneuver the truck safely around customer facilities and dumpsters.
- Operate hydraulic compaction equipment, including a 3-ton rolling drum mounted on a hydraulic boom.
- Accurately document routes, service activities, inspections, and operational data using smartphone-based applications.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional vehicle at all times.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs with company-approved diesel mechanics and hydraulic technicians.
- Support sales demonstrations and customer events by assisting with equipment operation and answering basic service-related questions.
- Represent the company professionally while interacting with customers and site personnel.
Qualifications
Required:
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- No at-fault accidents within the past two years.
- Minimum one year of commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a DOT Physical, background check, and drug screening.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, accountability, and integrity.
- Comfortable using smartphones, mobile applications, and technology in daily operations.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
- Ability to frequently climb, bend, squat, reach, stand, walk, and enter/exit equipment throughout the workday.
- Ability to repeatedly climb a 4-foot ladder during daily operations.
- Fluent English communication skills.
Preferred:
- Class B CDL.
- Experience operating hydraulic equipment.
- Experience maintaining commercial trucks and hydraulic systems.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
