We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Chemical Plant Operator to join our production team. This position plays a critical role in day-to-day manufacturing operations, including material handling, equipment operation, process monitoring, and maintaining product quality standards.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role requires strong teamwork, a commitment to safety, and the ability to troubleshoot production issues as they arise.
Primary Responsibilities
- Handle, transfer, weigh, and mix raw materials used in production processes.
- Monitor production equipment and ensure operations are running efficiently.
- Record production data including measurements, temperatures, batch information, and material usage.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment or process issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine cleaning, inspections, and basic maintenance of production equipment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Report safety concerns, accidents, equipment malfunctions, or quality issues promptly.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to production efficiency and product quality.
- Work closely with production team members and supervisors to maintain workflow and meet production goals.
- Safely operate forklifts and other industrial equipment as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior manufacturing, chemical processing, or industrial experience preferred.
- Forklift experience or certification is a plus.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Comfortable using computers for data entry and production tracking.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow written procedures and safety guidelines.
- Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, crouch, and work for extended periods.
- Comfortable wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
