Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to uphold high standards of sanitation.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners efficiently and safely.
• Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocols.
• Conduct deep cleaning of restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to ensure sanitation compliance.
• Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and proper floor care techniques to preserve their appearance and durability.
• Assist with light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or minor repairs as needed.
• Follow safety guidelines during heavy lifting or manual handling activities to prevent injuries and ensure safe lifting practices.

Requirements

• Proven janitorial or custodial experience with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning procedures.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment including floor buffers, vacuums, and chemical dispensing tools.
• Ability to handle chemical agents safely by adhering to chemical handling safety procedures.
• Strong understanding of sanitation standards and facility maintenance practices.
• Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while maintaining safe lifting practices.
• Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to cleanliness and safety.
• Customer service skills are a plus for interacting professionally with staff or visitors when needed.
