Seeking a QC RECEIPT INSPECTOR to ensure the quality and compliance of materials, equipment, and components received in support of a nuclear fuel fabrication and enrichment facility. This position requires a keen attention to detail, a deep understanding of quality control processes, and the ability to work effectively in a high-stakes, safety-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in nuclear-related quality assurance or inspection roles, receipt and inspection of goods, warehouse operations, SAP system knowledge, and will be familiar with the protocols and regulations that govern the nuclear industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection of Incoming Materials:
- Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, components, and equipment upon receipt to ensure they meet specified standards, technical requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Verify certifications, shipping documentation, and compliance with purchase order specifications.
- Quality Control & Documentation:
- Record detailed inspection results in logs and /or databases, ensuring accurate traceability of materials and components.
- Ensure all materials received are appropriately labeled and segregated to prevent contamination or misuse.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all inspections adhere to strict nuclear safety protocols and industry standards, and guidelines.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, non-conformities, or potential safety risks to supervisors and relevant departments.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with the Quality Control team, receiving departments, and suppliers to resolve any issues related to material quality.
- Assist with audits and internal quality assessments, as well as external inspections by regulatory bodies, if requested.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline material receipt and inspection procedures.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, new regulations, and emerging technologies in nuclear fuel enrichment and quality control.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering discipline is preferred.
- Education:
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a quality control or inspection role, ideally in a nuclear, or highly regulated environment.
- Experience in conducting detailed inspections and working with quality assurance protocols is a must.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems is a plus.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols, especially in nuclear or industrial environments.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with quality control software or databases. SAP system experience is required for this receipt inspection role.
- Ability to use inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Certifications (Preferred):
- ASQ (American Society for Quality) certifications, NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) certifications, or other relevant quality control certifications.
Physical / Mental Requirements:Must have visual acuity to perform tasks, and ability to stand, balance, stoop, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, lift, pull/push, perform repetitive motions, grasp/manual dexterity, hear and talk to perform this assignment. Ability to work in a controlled, regulated environment with potential exposure to industrial machinery and equipment. Must also have capacity to think, concentrate and focus over long periods of time, ability to read and write complex documents in English, reason and make sound decisions, and express thoughts orally.
Ability to obtain and maintain full unescorted access at a nuclear fuel enrichment and fabrication facility is required (background and drug screening, training, psychological testing, etc).
In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $87,000 min - $144,000 max. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, contract, etc.).
