Eclipse Specialty & Emergency Pet Care is a modern specialty and emergency hospital located in Whippany, NJ. Our privately/employee-owned facility offers 24/7 emergency and critical care, along with cardiology, dentistry, internal medicine, oncology, surgery, and neurology services. The Role:

The Training and Education Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing training programs for all hospital staff. This role ensures that employees are well-trained, knowledgeable, and compliant with hospital policies and industry standards. Collaborate with the Nursing Manager, Employee Experience Manager and other members of leadership to facilitate employee training and onboarding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for new hires and ongoing staff development.
  • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and consultations with department heads.
  • Design and update training materials, manuals, and resources.
  • Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars on various topics, including clinical procedures, customer service, and safety protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities and employee progress.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address training needs.
  • Collaborate with the Employee Experience Manager on projects and hospital goals.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of veterinary practices and procedures.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and training methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using training software and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in veterinary practice, with at least 2 years in a training or supervisory role.
  • Certification in training and development is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Ability to conduct training sessions in various settings, including clinical environments.
  • Exposure to animals, including those that may be sick or injured.
