POSITION SUMMARY
The Talent Development Manager plays a critical role in building, developing, and supporting a high-performing production team capable of executing events with excellence. This role oversees full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, employee development, and compliance for the Production department. Additionally, the Talent Development Manager drives culture-building initiatives, ensures adherence to company policies, and implements training programs that support staff growth and long-term retention. By maintaining strong staffing pipelines, coaching employees, and elevating workplace culture, this role directly contributes to the operational success and people-focused mission of the organization
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Talent Acquisition & People Management
· Lead the full-cycle recruitment process for hourly, seasonal, and event-based roles, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring high-quality candidates.
· Schedule production leads and crew for all events, ensuring appropriate staffing coverage based on event volume and capacity.
· Collaborate with staffing agencies to supplement in-house crews and maintain a strong pool of qualified candidates.
· Oversee compliance with uniform standards and ensure inventory levels are maintained.
· Assist in semi-monthly payroll processing for non-exempt employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
· Manage accident reports and workers' compensation claims, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
· Provide accurate and timely labor budget reports to leadership, highlighting trends, efficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
· Audit production team credit card reconciliation for policy compliance.
· Arrange travel and lodging for traveling production teams, securing cost-effective accommodations.
· Develop and implement retention, engagement, and performance management strategies alongside Director of Company Operations.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, recommending process improvements when needed.
Staff Training & Development
· Partner with department managers to identify training needs and design specialized development programs.
· Evaluate training effectiveness through data and feedback, adjusting programs as needed.
· Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to support employee skill-building and career growth.
· Plan and facilitate team-building initiatives and professional development activities.
· Oversee the company’s learning management system, ensuring content is current, accessible, and impactful.
Culture Development & Management
· Serve as a cultural steward, fostering an inclusive, fair, engaged, and collaborative workplace aligned with the company’s mission and values.
· Promote a strong sense of community across departments while upholding the company’s small-business–driven philosophy.
· Plan and organize team-building events and culture-enhancing activities.
· Support DEI efforts across recruitment, training, development, performance, and advancement processes.
· Collect and analyze employee feedback regarding culture and engagement; develop action plans to address trends and opportunities.
Financial Management
· Manages departmental budget, monitors expenses, and tracks financial performance.
· Identifies opportunities for cost savings, operational efficiencies, and risk reduction.
· Audit all events post-program to track labor, hotel, and per diem spending.
· Submit credit card expenses to accounting in a timely manner.
Companywide Responsibilities
· Ensure adherence to company standards, policies, and procedures.
· Attend bi-weekly one-on-one meetings to share updates on workload, challenges, and accomplishments.
Other Responsibilities
· Serve as on-site event operations or designer manager as needed.
· Step in as on-site production lead when required.
· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
· Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field preferred.
· 3 years of experience supervising a rotating, seasonal, or on-call workforce.
· 3 years of experience recruiting and scheduling variable labor teams.
· 1 year of experience in a seasonal event or hospitality environment.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
· Exceptional attention to detail.
· Knowledge of warehouse safety policies preferred.
· Strong communication skills with an emphasis on transparency and collaboration.
· Ability to read and interpret contracts, financial reports, and legal documents.
· Self-starter capable of independently managing diverse tasks and responsibilities.
· Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
· Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally when requested.
· Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
· Clean MVR.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This position operates in both office and warehouse environments with routine travel to event sites and other locations. The role requires the ability to remain stationary for up to 50% of the time, as well as the ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific visual abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work is required to support operational needs.
