Java Software Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Java Developer to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about building mission-critical systems within the Fintech and Capital Markets space. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering scalable, cloud-native applications that power complex financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, mission-critical applications using Java and related technologies.
• Translate complex financial and business requirements into scalable and robust technical solutions.
• Build and enhance backend services using Core Java, Java 8, and Spring MVC.
• Develop responsive and interactive front-end components using AngularJS and jQuery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Business Analysts, and DevOps to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Architect and implement cloud-native applications with a focus on scalability, resilience, and performance.
• Ensure system reliability, security, and compliance with financial industry standards.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience with:
• Core Java and Java 8
• Spring MVC framework
• AngularJS and jQuery
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
• Experience designing and developing scalable, distributed systems.

Domain Expertise

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Payments systems, including:
• Modern payment rails such as FedNow, RTP (Real-Time Payments), FedWire, and ACH
• Exposure to or experience in the Foreign Exchange (FX) domain.
• Familiarity with Capital Markets systems and workflows is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, messaging systems, and event-driven architecture.
• Understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and security standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
