Position Overview:
- Seeking an experienced, innovative, and highly strategic Director, Global Events to join the Marketing organization for a 12‐month maternity leave coverage.
- This Planner will oversee the development, planning, and flawless execution of high‐impact global meetings and events that reinforce our culture, elevate the brand, and drive measurable business outcomes.
- The ideal consultant brings deep event management expertise, a solutions‐oriented mindset, exceptional stakeholder management capabilities, and the ability to lead complex, multi‐workstream programs with precision and grace.
- This individual excels in fast‐paced environments, confidently navigates senior‐level interactions, and balances creativity with operational rigor.
- The role will work closely with cross‐functional partners—Marketing, Sales, Corporate Communications, PR, Product, and senior leadership—and will report directly to the Head of Global Event Management.
- Event Strategy & Execution:
- Lead the tactical and logistical planning of assigned meetings and events, including regional meetings, symposiums, product launch events, and senior‐level engagements.
- Oversee all event‐related deliverables: agendas, run‐of‐show documents, creative assets, invitations, communications, gifting, and lead‐generation materials.
- Manage registration platforms, monitor attendee data, analyze performance metrics, and provide comprehensive reporting and insights.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
- Manage relationships with external partners including creative agencies, tradeshow organizers, booth vendors, hospitality providers, and on‐site production teams.
- Collaborate closely with Corporate Communications / PR, Sales, Marketing, Corporate Travel, and internal SMEs to ensure alignment of messaging, brand standards, and event objectives.
- Negotiate booth locations, sponsorship packages, and marketing opportunities, ensuring optimal visibility and ROI.
- Operational Excellence:
- Lead pre‐ and post‐event briefings, documenting learnings and establishing best practices for future enhancements.
- Strategize with Global Events Management leadership to innovate and continually elevate the impact of global events.
- Ensure disciplined budget management, timeline adherence, and high‐quality execution across all programs.
- Proven ability to interact with executive and senior management with confidence, polish, and professionalism.
- Demonstrated success leading end‐to‐end planning and execution of internal meetings, large‐scale conferences, tradeshows, client hospitality programs, and virtual experiences across varying budgets and formats.
- Strong vendor and partner management skills, including negotiating with tradeshow partners, overseeing booth builds, managing on‐site planners, and ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Deep expertise creating best‐in‐class attendee experiences, from registration and communications through on‐site delivery and post‐event measurement.
- Ability to manage, develop, and refine event marketing timelines including collateral creation, invitation workflows, gifting programs, room block coordination, lead‐gen tools, and inventory management.
- Experience building event pages, registrations, and virtual event platforms. Experience in Cvent is required.
- Strong analytical thinking with experience managing event registrations, tracking performance metrics, and producing data‐driven reporting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross‐functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in core Microsoft Office applications—including Excel (basic filtering and data organization), Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint—with the ability to create polished, executive‐ready deliverables.
- Exceptional organizational, project management, and problem‐solving skills with the ability to prioritize and pivot seamlessly.
- High degree of professionalism, discretion, accountability, and comfort making decisions in real time.
- 7-10 years of experience in event strategy, planning, and execution (financial services industry, preferred).
- Strong negotiation skills and experience working with external trade and marketing vendors.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with an executive‐ready presence.
- Proven ability to collaborate across complex organizations and deliver strategic initiatives on time and within budget.
- Strong project management rigor with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Data‐driven mindset with experience defining success metrics and enhancing customer experience strategy.
- Ability to motivate, influence, and align diverse stakeholders toward common outcomes.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to anticipate needs and think proactively.
