The Project Manager is a key professional responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing construction projects from inception and completion. This role requires strong project management skills, technical knowledge of construction processes, and effective communication to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards.
Job duties include:
· Project Planning and Initiation:
o Work closely with clients, architects, and stakeholders to define project goals, objectives, and requirements
o Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines
o Create comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation and procurement strategies
· Project Execution:
o Oversee all aspects of construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control
o Coordinate and manage project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
o Monitor progress, resolve issues, and adjust as necessary to keep projects on track
· Budget and Cost Management:
o Establish and manage project budgets, tracking expenses, and controlling costs
o Review and approve change orders and manage financial aspects of the project
o Identify and implement cost-saving measures where possible
o Project range typically from $100,000 to $5,000.000
· Quality Assurance:
o Implement and enforce quality control measures to maintain high construction standards
o Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets project specifications and industry standards
o Address and resolve any quality issues promptly
· Communication:
o Maintain effective communication and clients, project stakeholders, and team members
o Provide regular project updates and reports on progress, issues, and solutions
o Lead project meetings and ensure that all parties are informed
· Risk Management:
o Identify potential project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies
o Proactively address and resolve issues that may impact the project’s success
· Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, change orders, and project records
o Review and approve invoices and payments to subcontractors and suppliers
o Prepare and present project status reports to clients and senior management
· Safety Compliance:
o Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on construction sites
o Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols
o Conduct safety meetings and training for project personnel
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
· 5 years of construction project management experience, preferably in commercial construction
· Supervisory / leadership skills
· Travel within United States to site visits approximately 25% of the time.
· Company provided laptop and cell phone to manage work at any hour and any location.
· Proficient in blueprint reading.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
· Strong communication skills
· Must be very detail oriented.
