What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patent Litigation Attorney position at Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott LLC?
Eckert Seamans is a full-service national law firm with a strong reputation and a history of success spanning over 65 years. With approximately 300 lawyers across a network of 14 offices, we provide clients with proactive, solution-oriented business and litigation counsel. We seek a Patent Litigation Attorney for our Pittsburgh or Philadelphia office. The attorney hired for this position will work directly with partners and associates on litigation matters in a fast-paced, active environment and directly communicate and interact with clients.
The ideal candidate will have experience with all phases of litigation, including conducting factual investigations and discovery, preparing pleadings, taking depositions, and preparing substantive motions in state and federal courts. Prior judicial clerkship experience is a plus.
Qualifications:
- 8 years of Patent Litigation experience
- First chair experience
- Excellent academic credentials and strong drafting skills
- Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Competence and desire to manage a variety of active matters independently
- Court and deposition experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated potential for business development
