Hourly Range: $19.00 to $19.23

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• The Substitute Teacher reports to the Academic Manager or Career Technical Training Manager and is an hourly, non-exempt position. 
• The Substitute Teacher performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions in designated subject area. 
• Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to insure maximum student motivation.
• The Substitute Teacher maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to insure maximum learning.
• Maintains student personnel folders.
• Records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area.

 Qualifications:  

• Certified to teach in state in which center is located.  State guidelines for substitute instructors may be adhered to.
•  Certified, licensed, or accredited in the state in which the center is located, or is accredited by a professional trade organization 
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Additional Requirements: Knowledge of required subject area. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification. Ability to motivate and inspire students and effectively relate to the trainee population. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Position requires an ability to operate household appliances and drive an automobile. In addition, an individual must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments.
