Eckerd College is currently hiring for the position of Director of Alumni Engagement to join our advancement team at our waterfront property along the Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida. We are searching for a dynamic leader who creates opportunities for engagement with our growing network of alumni by planning and implementing engagement opportunities that foster lifelong connections with Eckerd College.
The Director creates and sustains a climate that fosters meaningful engagement, volunteerism, and philanthropic support by developing strategic initiatives, cultivating alumni leaders, and collaborating with campus partners to deliver impactful programs, communications, and events.
They will possess strong project management skills with detail orientation and possess a clear understanding of the role of a private liberal arts college. An understanding of and desire to utilize metrics and analytics to make data-informed decisions will be crucial to the success of the position.

Professional growth is encouraged through involvement with Higher Education industry organizations, such as CASE and the Forum of Florida Alumni Associations.

Key Responsibilities
Inspire a culture of alumni tradition and philanthropy by collaborating with the Advancement team and strengthening engagement among graduates and current students;
Lead the visioning, planning, and full coordination of Reunion Weekend, including program goals, budgets, reunion committees, communications, and all event logistics;
Prepare the President, Vice President and staff members for Advancement events and other interactions with key alumni, parents and friends, which may include the preparation of briefings, reports, strategy documents, etc.;
Identify alumni who are prospects for annual giving, major giving, and planned giving to increase financial support at the President’s Collegium level. Conduct personal solicitations and visits with donors and prospects in a portfolio of approximately 40-50 individuals;
Identify, cultivate, and recruit alumni volunteers who can engage with and support key areas of the College, including Academic Programs, Admission, Advancement, Athletics, Student Activities, Career Center, and the Waterfront, thereby deepening alumni connections across campus;
Cultivate and coordinate affinity- and identity-based alumni groups to expand engagement and volunteer leadership;
Develop and manage an integrated alumni communications strategy that enhances engagement and reinforces institutional priorities;
Develop and manage the Alumni Engagement operating budget, ensuring effective stewardship of resources and alignment with strategic goals;
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in event planning, volunteer management, constituent engagement, development, marketing, and/or sales.
