Sr. A&D Landman
Eckard Enterprises, LLC is a well-capitalized, acquisition-focused asset aggregator actively deploying capital across the Permian and Anadarko Basins. We’re hiring a Sr. A&D Landman to help lead origination, evaluation, and execution of acquisitions, from first look through closing, with direct access to management and a clear line of sight to the bottom line.
This is a deal-lead seat, not a support role. You’ll own transactions from start to end, set the land strategy on new areas, and work alongside management, Engineering, and Geology to shape where we deploy capital next.
Responsibilities
- Originate, screen, and close acquisitions of mineral & royalty assets across target areas, both on-market and off-market
- Lead negotiation of PSAs, LOIs, and ancillary docs (assignments, conveyances etc.) from first point of contact through closing and post-close
- Assist in title review, curative strategy, defect valuation and lease/contract review
- Partner with Engineering and Geology on valuation, bid strategy, and risk-adjusted offers
- Identify and develop new acquisition areas and BD channels
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers, A&D groups, PE-backed sellers, operators, and mineral/royalty owners
- Negotiate direct with mineral and royalty owners
- Track market activity, comps, and competitor bid behavior to sharpen positioning
- Support special projects and strategic initiatives as needed
Qualifications
- 8 yrs. O&G land experience, with 5 yrs. in A&D (or equivalent deal-lead experience)
- Demonstrated track record of closing PSAs in the Permian and/or Anadarko, including packages where you were the lead landman
- Strong understanding of title (DOTOs, curative, NRI verification), conveyancing, and the full A&D lifecycle
- Proven negotiator with a developed network of brokers, sellers, and capital sources
- Ability to run multiple deals concurrently with minimal oversight
- Entrepreneurial, ownership-driven mindset
- Advanced Excel and Word; comfortable with land software and mapping tools
