Job Summary:
The HOST/HOSTESS is a high visibility position that plays a vital role in ensuring that Guest feel welcome, respected. appreciated, and cared for during their time at our restaurant. Our host/hostesses must emotionally connect with Guests, collect information about Guests’ dining experience/preferences, and effectively communicate with our service team and management.
Essential Functions: Must be willing and able to:
- Exude confidence, professionalism, and a genuine sense of hospitality and warmth
- Provide friendly, personal, professional service to all Guest
- Understand “The 7- Intents Service Model”, and apply the principles to all Guest interactions
- Provide a pleasant atmosphere, offer an appropriate greeting/farewell for all Guests entering and leaving the restaurant
- Welcome and seats Guests
- Answer, return and takes messages for all incoming phone calls
- Take reservations, maintain the reservation database and appropriately book reservations
- Refer Guest concerns or complaints to management
- Assist Managers with table management
- Exhibit phone etiquette, organizational skills, basic computer knowledge (incl. reservations management system)
- Provide constructive input to foster process improvement
- Stay informed on all hours of operations and special events
- Proactively obtain information from Guests, management and service staff and acts as a central hub of information for entire restaurant
- Engage Guest during the seating process and effectively hands over information to service team

- Make appropriate judgment calls under stressful condition
- Maintain clean and orderly work area throughout shift and leave it ready for the following shift
- Acquire and wear appropriate uniform as prescribed in the training manual
- Maintain and clean uniform
- Maintain a well-manicured appearance and persona that reflects the established image of the restaurant
- Read and be accountable for the information in the Echo and Rig employee handbook
Qualifications Standards:
- Previous customer service experience desirable
Must be willing and able to:
- Think critically, provide solutions for guests
- Collaborate and contribute to a diverse service team.
- Communicate effectively in both written and verbal communication
- Handle multiple priorities and tasks while under pressure.
- Efficient use an IPad and Computer
