Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Escort patients into exam rooms to prep for Physician visit
- Pace visits and patient rooming accordingly. Communicate any delays in appointments to patients at time of rooming
- Complete pre-visit requirements including reconciliation of medical lists, collecting vitals and lab collection. Update patient records in the EMR in time for physician visit
- Draw blood from patients and deliver specimen to in house lab
- Work collaboratively with the Medical Receptionist team to ensure Physician schedule is utilized appropriately
- Monitor Physician inbox in EMR for messages, respond appropriately according to Physician workflow
- Participates in department meetings and in-service training as required
- Cover the front desk as needed
- Other duties as assigned

Experience
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred but not required
- High School diploma required
- At least two years of experience working in a medical office with similar volume. Previous experience working in a Hematology and Oncology Office preferred
- Previous experience working with an Electronic Medical Record system required
