We help developers, owners, and general contractors reduce risk, control costs, and stay on schedule by combining advanced drilling technology with collaborative value engineering, delivering foundations that support today’s infrastructure.
ECD NY is actively looking for qualified Shop Mechanics & Road Mechanics (Heavy Equipment & Truck) to support operations in the NY Metro region.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Shop Mechanics:
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of construction equipment, including drills, cranes, excavators, loaders, and support equipment
- Inspect equipment and identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Complete preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity
- Maintain organized shop operations, including tools, parts inventory, and service records
- Assist in equipment mobilization and demobilization
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company standards
Road Mechanics:
- Travel to job sites to diagnose and repair equipment in the field
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues under varying site conditions
- Perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime and keep projects on schedule
- Coordinate with field teams and shop personnel to ensure efficient equipment support
- Document service work, parts usage, and repair timelines
- Maintain service vehicles, tools, and mobile diagnostic equipment
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of experience working on heavy construction equipment
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documents
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred for Road Mechanics)
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve in both shop and field environments
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Willingness to work overtime and travel to job sites as needed
