**Job Description: Preschool Substitute Teacher**
**Position Overview:**
The Preschool Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing temporary coverage for regular classroom teachers in a preschool setting. The substitute will facilitate engaging and educational activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 3-5 years old.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Classroom Management:**
- Maintain a positive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment.
- Implement classroom rules and routines in alignment with the school's expectations.
2. **Instructional Support:**
- Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to facilitate instructional activities.
- Adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of students.
3. **Engagement:**
- Promote social, emotional, and physical development through play and structured activities.
- Encourage participation and collaboration among students.
4. **Safety and Supervision:**
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Monitor children’s behavior and provide guidance as needed.
5. **Communication:**
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to address any questions or concerns.
- Provide feedback to the regular teacher regarding student progress and any issues that arise during the day.
6. **Collaboration:**
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff members to provide a cohesive educational experience.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as needed.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
- Experience working with young children preferred.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 15 per week
