POSITION
The primary responsibility of the Yard Personnel is to manage the maintenance of the facility and rental equipment. Additionally, they are responsible for picking up and delivering various supplier parts for the branch and service technicians. They may also be used to deliver equipment attachments as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Follow established policies and processes as they relate to job duties.
- Open and close the shop and associated buildings, inspecting and maintaining the yard, loading dock, and surrounding areas daily.
- Prepare or store tools as assigned to ensure areas remain free of clutter and well-organized.
- Inspect and maintain areas requiring personal protective equipment (PPE) and all related safety gear.
- Perform outdoor property maintenance, including organizing equipment, mowing grass, repairing the yard, weed control, and trash collection. Apply dust control measures when necessary.
- Conduct fluid inventory checks, including bulk oils, fuels, and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF).
- Assist with loading and unloading rental equipment for external transportation.
- Follow instructions closely when operating machinery.
- Conduct preliminary inspections of machines upon arrival at the yard.
- Clean and lubricate equipment as required.
- Stage and prepare machinery and attachments.
- Handle or provide materials and tools to assist with repairs as necessary.
- Manage the pickup, return, receiving, and staging of repair parts as needed.
- Report any issues to the Service Manager and collaborate to resolve them.

DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position operates at professional construction field sites and/or construction shop environment requiring the ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone, ability to read printed materials, signs, computer screens and directions, stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions, ability to lift, push, pull, carry, finger, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds and reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around sites or shop or otherwise position one's self around the required work and safety requirements to navigating and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner.
- Will be required to work on project sites and operate vehicles, trailers, equipment, and other tools within local, state, and federal safety guidelines.
- Will be required to work outside, frequently for extended periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
- While working, the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.
EXPECTED POSITION HOURS
- This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime and weekends may be required as job duties demand with prior approval.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Work Experience
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Pressure washer experience is preferred.
- Heavy equipment machinery experience is preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Proficient with power and hand tools.
- Familiar with vehicle repair.
- Skilled in software and apps.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
Certifications, Licenses, and other Requirements
- A valid driver's license and a clean motor vehicle record are required. A medical card may be needed.
- Forklift Certification is preferred.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
