ECAD, Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities is a nonprofit organization that educates and places Service Dogs with people living with disabilities. At the heart of our mission is the drive to create a team, one person - one dog, to share a life without restrictions.
We are seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our team!
This position plays a critical role in ensuring these purposefully breed dogs become the Service Dogs they are destined to become. Kennel Assistants are the essential in ensuring the Service Dogs in Training are receiving the best care physically and mentally. You will not only be providing love and care for 30 plus dogs daily, you will be instrumental in helping dogs help humans!

This position will require you to work both inside and outside year around regardless of the weather, as well as, you to being on your feet moving during the shift.
Hours of operations: 7:30 am until 7:30 pm seven days a week.
MUST be willing to working nights, weekends and holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, Including but not limited to:
- Keeping the kennel clean and sanitized in accordance with ECAD policies
- Animals are healthy and current on all vaccines required by CT
- Make sure all animals are feed, watered, medicated, groomed, and exercise in accordance with ECAD policies & dog care plan
- Managing large group play and individual playing for enrichment
- Records are maintained and current at all times.
- Document all concerns or changes in animal behaviors and/or health
- Complete and turn in the work sheet supplied by ECAD
- Give medication both prescribed and preventative
- Perform daily kennel duties
Experience & Education:
- Higher education in the fields of Animal Science, Vet Tech, Training or Grooming is a plus.
- Experience in veterinary and/or kennel setting is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior a plus
Qualifications:
- Must be willing to work between 7:30am – 7:30pm, nights, weekends & holidays as needed
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to perform heavy lifting tasks related to animal care and facility maintenance
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.35 - $17.50 per hour
