NOT OPEN TO 3RD PARTY RECRUITERS LOOKING TO PLACE RESOURCES ON C2C CONTRACTS

My client is a leading global independent Energy-as-a-Service provider, offering free energy savings assessments, guaranteed savings, fixed price proposals, funding solutions, and we are experts in building automation. My client has successfully implemented holistic, product agnostic projects at more than 3,500 sites across the United States. They are looking for an Associate Building Automations Service (BAS) Technician Level I full-time employee to work onsite 100% at their Philadelphia office.

Role Overview:

My client designs, delivers, and supports energy and smart-building solutions that improve comfort, reliability, efficiency, and operating cost. Our Service team works alongside a 24/7 National Operations Center (NOC) to support commercial, healthcare, education, senior living, and industrial customers across a growing national portfolio. This development role is for someone building a career in building automation service. You will complete defined assignments with active support from experienced technicians, Service leadership, and the NOC, then take on more complex work as your judgment and platform capability grow. Success starts with disciplined learning, safe execution, complete documentation, and early escalation.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete defined portions of planned, preventive-maintenance, time-and-material, and corrective service work remotely and onsite under an approved plan.
  • Inspect, test, calibrate, and replace common BAS field devices such as sensors, actuators, relays, transducers, power supplies, and low-voltage control components within training and authorization.
  • Connect to BAS front ends and controllers; gather alarms, trends, graphics, schedules, point values, controller status, and field measurements needed for diagnosis.
  • Communicate with the customer upon arrival and before departure; promptly escalate scope changes, unsafe conditions, access issues, and technical uncertainty.
  • Complete service records, time entries, and expense reports accurately and on time, documenting the issue, work performed, result, and any remaining action.
  • Coordinate closely with the NOC, Service coordination, senior technicians, engineering, contractors, vendors, and customer representatives.
  • Protect credentials, data, backups, tools, test equipment, parts, and the assigned vehicle; never bypass access controls.
  • Stop work when conditions are unsafe; participate in after-hours or on-call work only after Service leadership confirms readiness.

Requirements Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Up to two years of relevant experience in building automation, HVAC, electrical work, electronics, instrumentation, networking, facilities maintenance, or technical service; applicable technical education or manufacturer training may substitute for experience.
  • Basic understanding of commercial HVAC equipment, DDC control concepts, electrical fundamentals, and common field devices.
  • Ability to learn to read control drawings, mechanical plans, electrical schematics, sequences of operation, and technical product documentation.
  • Ability to use common hand tools and electronic test equipment safely within training and authorization.
  • Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn BAS software, field-service systems, and IP-networking fundamentals.
  • Clear customer communication, reliable attendance, organized work habits, and the discipline to ask for help early.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company vehicle-insurability requirements.
  • Ability to travel regionally, work occasional evenings or weekends as development progresses, and satisfy customer-site screening, safety, badging, and access requirements.

Requirements Preferred:

  • Technical certificate or associate degree in HVAC, controls, electronics, electrical systems, networking, instrumentation, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on exposure to Automated Logic WebCTRL, Niagara N4, Carrier, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Trane, Delta Controls, or another commercial BAS platform.
  • Experience with low-voltage controls, HVAC service, electrical troubleshooting, facilities maintenance, IT support, or technical customer service.
  • Exposure to BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP networking, controller addressing, point checkout, or commissioning.
  • OSHA training, NFPA 70E awareness, EPA certification, or other relevant safety and technical credentials.

Location:

  • work onsite 100% at their Philadelphia office
  • ability to travel and perform after hours work on occasion when needed
