One of our clients in the Government domain is seeking a Public Health Office Assistant to support the Division of Community Health Services (CHS) by performing clerical and administrative duties in the health department dental clinic. The selected candidate will assist with patient registration, scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, referral coordination, data entry, and other office support functions while providing excellent customer service and maintaining efficient clinic operations.

Responsibilities
- Schedule and manage patient appointments.
- Inform patients of any visit requirements.
- Collect and update client demographic information for registration purposes.
- Review documentation to determine eligibility for federal and state programs.
- Input data into the health department management information systems.
- Interact with multiple computer software systems to input/receive information.
- Process the cash drawer and balance to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Inform clients of their rights and responsibilities for participation in programs.
- Obtain prior authorization per guidance before releasing medical information.
- Assist in obtaining prior authorization from insurers through the gathering and submission of documentation before services are rendered, as applicable.
- Compile appropriate forms for services requested to ensure efficient clinic flow.
- Scan and index records into the electronic dental record.
- Maintain a positive, constructive, and cooperative work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience equivalent to two years of full-time customer service delivery and/or clerical/office work.
- Current driver//'s license.
- Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) background check.

- 8 hours per day
Travel
