Part Time EVS Cleaner

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision, performs routine cleaning and maintenance duties in an assigned area within the hospital or health care setting to ensure the health, safety, and environmental standard for everyone within the facility. This position will regularly engage in cleaning and disinfecting as assigned by the client which will include but not be limited to mopping, sweeping, dusting, laundry, and other cleaning related duties in both patient occupied and unoccupied areas.

POSITION DETAILS:

SHIFT:  4 hour shift. 3PM - 7AM or 11PM - 3AM 

SCHEDULE :Monday - Friday with rotating weekends

SALARY: $19.00 HOUR

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:

The following reflects managements definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

• Sweeps, vacuums, mops or scrubs, and polishes floors
• Dusts equipment, furniture, and/or fixtures, etc.
• Spot washes walls, beds, cabinets, and windowsills
• Room changeovers from on patient to another.
• Disinfection of rooms both private and public.
• Properly maintains housekeeping carts and automatic equipment
• Keeps areas stocked with adequate amounts of supplies such as soap, toilet paper, paper towels, etc.
• May be required to strip beds of linen and remake bed to established standards
• May be required to remove trash, clean waste receptacles, compactors and patient discharge units, spot washes walls horizontal and vertical services
• Clean glass in doors and glass partitions; cleans and polishes stainless steel cabinets, kick plates and doorknobs, clean and sanitize elevators
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:

• Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Complete CCHHS drug and medical testing required by Cook County
• COVID -19 vaccination record card with booster
• At least 1 year of previous janitorial experience preferred
• Willing to undergo a background check

• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to understand all safety requirements and cautions
• Ability to perform the physical labor necessary
